RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENTS

A deposit of $250 per person is required to confirm your reservations. A deposit of $350 per person on cruise bookings. Final tour payments should be received by Cartan Tours no later than 60 prior to departure. Cruise bookings are due 90 days prior to departure. Wildlife tours require a deposit of $750 per person within 7 days of reservations. Final payment is due to Cartan Tours 95 days prior to departure.

Clients are interested in adding tickets to the Rose Bowl Game, it is only $100.00 deposit, there will be an additional deposit required of $100 per person, if you take both with the final payment for the entire tour due by October 1. 

CHANGES/CANCELLATIONS/PENALTIES:

Once confirmed: $30 per person
90-61 days prior to departure: $250 per person
60-46 days prior to departure: $450 per person
Within 45 days of departure: non-refundable
Cruise/Wildlife Tours:
Once confirmed: $300 per person
90-61 days prior to departure: 50% of the tour cost is non-refundable

Plus any supplier charge such as air, cruise, and rail transportation. Please note, if a cancellation results in a change of room type, (e.g., a double to a single or a triple to a double), the additional charges will be the responsibility of the remaining travelers. Changes to a confirmed itinerary are subject to a charge fee of $50.00.

PROTECTING YOUR VACATION DOLLARS:

Cartan's Cancellation Waiver will ensure that should you cancel tour service purchased from Cartan Tours, prior to your departure for reasons of illness, the death of an immediate family member, illness of an immediate family member where a doctor recommends that you not travel, you will receive a refund of all moneys paid excluding the cost of the waiver. Should you for these same reasons have to leave your trip early, this waive will ensure that unused items, purchased from Cartan Tours, will be refunded. Pre-existing conditions are covered if the Cancellation Waiver is purchased at the time of the initial payment. If you decide to add the Cancellation Waiver after your initial payment has been made, any pre-existing conditions will not be covered. The Cancellation Waiver may be purchased for new reservations at any time. The Cancellation Waiver can not be added to existing reservations once you are within 60 days of departure. Immediate family members includes: any children, adopted children, stepchildren, children-in-law, parents, stepparents, parents-in-law, siblings, siblings-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, legal spouse, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews of you and your traveling companion who reside in the US or Canada. SMOKING ABOARD THE TRAINS:

The trains featured in our tours DO NOT allow smoking on the train.

REFUNDS:

Once the tour has commenced, hote accomodations, meals, sightseeing, or other tour services which are not used are not refundable or exchangeable. If a scheduled tour must be withdrawn for any reason, al alternative will be offered. If none is available, a full refund of all monies paid to Cartan TOurs will be refunded and shall constitiute our sole responsibility

TOUR PRICE INCLUDES:

Service as detailed in our day by day itineraries as a published or as tailored to meet your specific requests based per person based on double occupancy. Marketing and operating cost related to the offering of these packages. Please request prices for children, single, triple, or quad pricing.

A NOTE ABOUT SEASONAL INCLUSIONS:

Some sightseeing tour are seasonal. Normally this is reflected by that season having a lower price. In the event we can not provide a service that a client has paid for, we will substitute a service of comparable value.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

All U.S. Citizens must have a Valid U.S. Passport for travel to and from Canada as of January 8, 2007.

It is the responsibility of each client to ensure that they have the proper documentation and identification for travel outside the United States. Please check with your insurance carrier for details on baggage insurance, car insurance, and medical insurance in the event of illness while traveling, and general coverage. If your bags are damaged during airport handling, report it to the airline immediately. If during your trip you notice and damage to bags or personal items, report the damage immediately. Please note Cartan Tours is not responsible for loss or damaged luggage because of breakage, theft, hotel or carrier handling, or normal wear or tear. Items that are not covered in the cost of your tour mush be paid directly to the supplier by cash or credit card prior to leaving the hotel, sightseeing, or service establishment.

RESPONSIBILITY:

These tours are under the management of Cartan Tours Inc., 3033 Ogden Ave. Lisle, IL 60532. It acts as agent for the passenger and therefore accepts no responsibility in whole or part for any delays; delayed departure or arrival; missed carrier connections; your failure to obtain valid travel documents or your failure to follow travel instructions; loss, damage or physical or emotional injury to a person or property caused in whole or in part by a supplier of any intervening third party or mechanical defect of failure of any nature, or for any substitution of hotels or for any additional expenses occasioned from any of the foregoing. Cartan Tours Inc., is not responsible for providing special facilities for your medical disabilities. No carrier shall have, or incur, the responsibility of liability to any person taking this tour, except its liability as a common carrier. The liability of the carriers for luggage or other property accompanying passengers is limited to their liability as common carriers. No revisions of the printed itinerary or its included features are anticipated; however, the right is reserved to withdraw any or all tours should the conditions warrant. A passenger shall be deemed to have left a tour after participation in the last feature noted in the printed itinerary or at such earlier time as the passenger may elect to commence his or her departure. Your retention of tickets, reservations or bookings after issuance shall constitute consent to the above terms and conditions and an agreement on your part to convey the contents hereof to your travel companions.

CAR RENTAL TERMS:

Renters must be 21 years of age (24 in Ontario) with a valid credit card and valid driver's license. Rental companies reserve the right to impose rental surcharges or to require specific insurance coverage for renters under 25 years of age. Rentals are based on a pick up and return to the same point unless otherwise specified. Rates are based on 24 hour time periods. Renters are responsible to ensure that they do not exceed their prepaid period. Time in excess of the prepaid period must be paid directly to the care rental company by the customer at the time of drop off. Gasoline, local taxes, CDW and PAI are not included. We recommend checking with your personal insurance agent to ensure that adequate coverage is purchased.

AIRLINES & AIR FARES:

Where Cartan Tours assists in the arrangement of air transportation, the Airline Passenger Contract in use by the Airlines concerned shall constitute the sole contract between the airline and purchase of these tours, and/or passengers. All air fares are subject to capacity controls. Confirmation of these rate is based on availability. Once air tickets are issued they are subject to change/cancellation charges. Check with the carrier your are travelling with for specific charges such as food and checked luggage as well as carry-on limitations.

NATIONAL PARK FEE:

Visitors to National Parks (for example: Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper and Glacier) are subject to a park user fee that is paid directly to the park service department. Most tours do not include these charges. If they are included, it will be noted in the "Tour Highlights" section of that tour.

AIR TAXES AND RELATED CHARGES:

These charges are based on current tax conditions and are subject to changes as directed by our air carriers and government authorities. Please note, some Canadian cities have an airport user charge that is paid directly to the airport authorities.
