Train travel brings us back to a time when life was a lot slower. When
someone’s trip was the talk of the town and a “sleeper” was the ultimate
luxury. Well, we know that this trip will make you the “talk of the town”
as you travel aboard VIA Rail in Sleeper Touring Class from Toronto to the
Canadian Rockies for a five night stay in some of the most famous hotels
in the world – The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, the Fairmont Chateau Lake
Louise and the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. Continue your rail travel
from Banff to Vancouver aboard the Rocky Mountaineer for two full days of
daylight rail travel and an overnight in a hotel along the way.

Tour Itinerary - 13 Days & 12 Nights
Day 1 – Arrive Toronto
Welcome to Toronto. Your package includes a transfer from the
airport to your hotel. Your afternoon and evening are at leisure.
Toronto is a beautiful city with lake frontage, fine restaurants and
interesting shops.
Overnight – Fairmont Royal York
Day 2 – VIA Rail Toronto to Jasper
With VIA Rail's schedule, you have all day to enjoy this
cosmopolitan city. We have included a city tour that allows you to hop
on and off at various attractions throughout the city. Plan to have
dinner before the train departs at 10:00PM, at a nearby restaurant.
The Fairmont Royal York is just across the street from the station.
Nothing shows you Canada like a trip on the train. Once aboard, the
staff will see you settled into your room. Your sitting room by day,
converts to upper and lower berths at night. As a Sleeper Touring
Class passenger, your fare includes all meals, use of any lounges and
access to the domed skyline car for spectacular viewing. The VIA Rail
staff will brief you on the dining schedule. Seating in the domed
skyline cars is on a “first-come, first-serve” basis. Hot tea and
coffee are available in the lounge area continuously.

Days 3 & 4 – VIA Rail to Jasper
Overnights – VIA Rail Sleeper Car
Day 5 – Arrive Jasper
You are scheduled to arrive into Jasper mid-afternoon. The staff of
the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge will meet you at the station and
transfer you to the Lodge. Here you will experience wilderness luxury
at its finest.
Overnight – Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
Day 6 – Jasper
If you decide to have breakfast from room service, you will be
surprised to see it delivered on a bike, an experience that only the
Jasper Park Lodge provides. Your “Discover Jasper” tour gives you a
wonderful look at this beautiful area. This afternoon, stroll along
the Lodge’s walking paths, rent a paddleboat, swim, play tennis or
golf.
Overnight – Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
Day 7 – Jasper to Lake Louise
Say goodbye to Jasper as you start a day filled with majestic
peaks, rushing streams and thundering waterfalls. A highlight of this
day is a visit to the Columbia Icefields for a ride on a
specially-constructed Ice Explorer. This afternoon you’ll arrive at
“The Jewel of the Canadian Rockies”, Lake Louise.
Overnight – Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise
Day 8 - Lake Louise to Banff
After the beauty of Lake Louise, you will be surprised to find that
Banff offers a different perspective. This active alpine village is
just about the best place to be in summer. Towering mountains and the
sweeping Bow Valley offer stunning contrasts. Elk roam about the
grounds of the local hotels as if they were household pets. The
Fairmont Banff Springs is the castle amongst the mountains and forests
and boasts of offering a world class golf course and spa. Plan to
visit many of Banff’s fun places.

Day 9 – Banff
Bring your camera, as your “Discover Banff” tour takes you to the
sightseeing highlights of this area. Your day includes Bow Falls,
Hoodoos, Surprise Corner, the Cave and Basin – where Banff’s history
began, and a gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain. This
afternoon is at leisure to explore Banff’s many boutiques and shops.
Overnight – Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel
Day 10 – Banff to Kamloops Rocky Mountaineer
Today your journey takes you over the Continental Divide, the
Spiral Tunnels and Kicking Horse Pass. You will travel through Rogers
Pass with tunnels, snow-sheds and glistening glaciers. Continue along
Shuswap Lake, the South Thompson River and the ranchlands leading to
Kamloops. When you arrive, the Rocky Mountaineer staff will meet and
transfer you to your hotel. Breakfast and lunch are served aboard the
train.
Overnight – Kamloops
Day 11 – Kamloops to Vancouver
You return to your train to set off for another day of scenic
wonders, as you travel through the fertile fields of the Fraser River
and the Coastal Mountains on your way to Vancouver. Once again, the
Rocky Mountaineer Rail staff will be on hand to serve breakfast, lunch
and snack services at your seat. The train is scheduled to arrive into
Vancouver early evening. A transfer is included from the rail station
to your hotel. Upon arrival to your hotel, the staff will assist you
with your check-in. For dinner consider Gastown, a lovely 19th century
restoration offering a selection of excellent restaurants and shops.
Overnight – Marriott Pinnacle or Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside
Day 12 – Vancouver
Both the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside and the Marriott
Pinnacle are beautiful hotels centrally located in the heart of
Vancouver. Use your Vancouver sightseeing tour to explore Vancouver.
Your hop-on hop-off tour stops along the way at many of Vancouver’s
famous attractions, including Stanley Park, the Aquarium, Granville
Island, the Capilano Suspension Bridge, Grouse Mountain, colorful
Chinatown, BC Place, the Sunken Gardens of Queen Elizabeth Park and
the Bloedel Conservatory.
Overnight – Marriott Pinnacle or Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside
Day 13 – Depart Vancouver
Enclosed with your travel documents is a transfer voucher from your
hotel to the airport. The staff of the hotel you are staying at will
direct you to your pick up point. We hope you enjoyed your visit to
Canada, and that it will be one of many return trips.
